Principal's Message

 

Welcome to Lackamas Elementary!

I am honored and excited to serve as the new principal of Lackamas Elementary. As I begin my first year here, I look forward to getting to know our students, staff, families, and community and continuing to build on the great work already happening at Lackamas.

I am beginning my 26th year in education, having spent 12 years as an elementary teacher in grades 4–6 and 13 years as a school administrator—four years as an assistant principal and nine years as a principal. Throughout my career, one belief has remained constant: all students can learn and succeed when they know they are cared for, supported, and challenged to be their best.

At Lackamas, I am committed to putting relationships first. I want every student to feel known, valued, safe, and that they belong. I believe our responsibility is not only to help students grow academically, but also to help them develop confidence, character, curiosity, and the skills they need to become their best selves.

Lackamas is a No Excuses University School, and we will continue our commitment to high expectations for every student while providing the support each child needs to be successful. We will work together to create a positive and inclusive school where students are encouraged to learn, grow, take risks, and celebrate their successes.

Strong schools are built through strong partnerships. I look forward to connecting with families at school events, in the hallways, at drop-off and pick-up, and throughout our community. Your perspective matters, and I encourage you to communicate with your child’s teacher or reach out to me whenever you have a question, concern, idea, or celebration to share.
