Principal's Message
Dear Lackamas Families,
Thank you for visiting the Principal’s Message page on our website. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. As the principal, I am excited to welcome you to our Lackamas family. We are looking forward to a new year of learning and growth for all students.
As a No Excuses University School. This means that we believe all students can achieve challenging academic standards and promise to put systems in place that will help your student achieve. We work collectively to offer support and compassion to all.
We understand that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child(ren)’s education. We ask for your support as we make two commitments this year.
-
We commit to building an inclusive culture that fosters a sense of belonging for all persons and respects the dignity of each in all areas of our campus.
-
We commit to providing the support that students need to reach their highest potential.
One way we will do this work is through our in person events. We love connecting with our students and families. These events help us to know you and your student/s better. We believe that our partnership with you is a benefit for your student/s and all members of the Lackamas family. Through these connections, the partnerships will be established and maintained in a positive way.
This school year will be unique and could provide many opportunities for you to be present at school. With our district's double levy failure, we are losing many of the supports that the levy paid for. Please stay tuned to our website, email, and auto dialers, or sign up for PTO to volunteer.
Another way that we can strengthen our commitments is through communication. You can always reach out to your student’s teacher. Please also feel free to email me anytime at starla_watson@ycs.wednet.edu or call our office at 360.894.6000. As partners in your student’s success, we look forward to ongoing communication that supports the academics, emotional, and behavioral needs of your student.
Above all, we are a place where students can thrive, and we want you to feel welcome.. Thank you for being a part of our Lackamas Family.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Starla Watson
Lackamas Principal
